DIY Feather Garland

DIY Tutorial: How to make your own golden feather garland

So I know Christmas is in a few days and all, but here you go incase you needed any last minute decorations (in actuality I think I will keep this one up all year long.. SHH! don’t tell!) I saw something similar to this gold feather garland at Anthropologie and fell in love and I just knew I had to try it myself. And it’s an easy one. As in you can finish it and have it hanging in less than an hour!

Materials: White feathers, metallic gold paint (which I am not obsessed with and have a feeling I will be covering everything in), paintbrush, string, hot glue gun, bark

First, paint the design on your feathers. I chose stripes, polka dots, and some solids. It is super easy, just try to remember to pat the paint on or brush with the grain of the feathers to avoid getting your feathers in a bunch. Let these dry.

Secondly, take your pieces of bark and cut them into the shape of feathers. Take the gold paint and paint the bottoms densely and use a lighter touch as you go upward to get the ombre effect. I think these alone are sooo pretty and want to do a ton more!!

Thirdly, use the glue gun to glue the feathers (both real and bark) onto the string in your desired pattern!

ALL DONE! :) So easy and so pretty.

I really hope you all try this one cause I love it.

XO, k
